WLG Pop up restaurant – Melbourne stop

A quick post before I head off for my second serving of WLG in Fitzroy. I’ll have a proper post SOON, with all my tasty descriptions and more drool-worthy photos.

Some of New Zealand’s finest wines on show!

Slow-cooked venis0n in Tunisian brik pastry with veal sweetbreads, broad beans, peas and pancetta.

Whittaker’s Dark Chocolate pave with fresh raspberries, Manuka honey cream and damson plum coulis.

“…Guests will experience an amazing showcase from New Zealand’s premier food and wine regions via the culinary artistry of chefs from some of Wellington’s finest restaurants. Last year Rex Morgan (Boulcott Street Bistro), Jacob Brown (The Larder), Shaun Clouston (Logan Brown) and Tom Hutchison (Capitol Restaurant) took control of the WLG kitchen; with many of them set to return.

From 15-27 November, Wellington Tourism is putting on a three-course meal with Wellington coffee and chocolate at a pop-up venue on the corner of Gertrude and Napier streets in Fitzroy, Melbourne. Total price? An unbelievable $35! Guests will also be able to purchase wine and beer from Wellington’s three surrounding wine regions of Hawke’s Bay, Wairarapa and Marlborough…” (TimeOut)

Tickets sold out within an hour of being released, but fortunately there are still some seats reserved for walk-ins. So go early and you might snag a table.
