Another one from the archives; pre-dating my blog. Not many words, but lots of juicy photos!

Lunch set menu:

Sashimi appetiser – fresh salmon, but where’s my ginger!

Spring roll salad – freshly fried exterior skin has a crisp crunch to it; the filling has hints of taro which reminds me of a particular yum cha item (芋角), except in the form of a spring roll.

Miso soup – typical miso soup, nothing more said =).

Wagyu scotch spencer & rice – thickly sliced Wagyu with beautiful fatty grains running through the meat. Seared over the charcoal flame for a mere 15-20seconds and the result – meat that is so tender & juicy that dissolves in the mouth. I like it slightly red still, with a hint of smokey charred lines. The accompanying 4 sauces adds a little depth in flavour, giving acidity / salt / spice as per preference. I was satisfied! And an accompanying dry Sake is a must!


Just thought I’d add my friend’s dish of pippies hot pot – looks amazing doesn’t it?

P.S. As much as they say they are smoke free, I don’t think stone grill can ever be entirely smoke free. I still carried that smokey aroma in my clothes afterwards =P.

Rating: Yummy (almost a +1) Will have to come again for more wagyu and to try other things. And they didn’t charge us a “cake’age” either, pretty nice!
