Famish’d salad bar

If you have seen the way I eat, you will concur that I of all people would probably be an unlikely candidate to gravitate towards healthy-eating ranging from salads to super foods when eating out. When I do choose to eat as such to break up the overindulging, I also prefer them to be neither bland nor boring. Definitely too hard to please…

So, you know you are running a good streak when a place that has been on your wish-list for as long as you can remember suddenly opens a sister branch and you are invited to come along and try it out. Score! The invite to Famish’d certainly came perfectly timed between a hectic several weeks of excess dining.

Beautiful salad bar.

Rating: Yummy+0.5. From the same creators of the Collins street Famish’d, the new Bourke St joint boasts the same lively atmosphere, the seasonally fresh salad ingredients, drizzled with a delicious range of sauces, and there are new creative salad recipes popping up all the time. A few extra bonus points for St Ali coffee and a knockout winter range of soups.

The general consensus across the table of bloggers were nods of approval for the quality of its creations, its generous serving size that leaves you satisfied but not guilty about dining healthy. I did find my spontaneous salad choice (I left in the hands of the salad-bar-waitress to make an awesome mix) a little over zealous in ratio of bacon to greens – so much for a healthy break from excess eating… *ahem.
